Vendor Codes
- As defined in the sercos specifications, a vendor code and a device ID is required for all devices using sercos communication. The vendor code and the device ID are used for identification and configuration purposes.
- The vendor code is assigned by sercos international for a vendor and a defined production site. Companies with several production sites need to apply for several vendor-codes. The value range is 0x0001 to 0xFFFF.
- The device ID is a vendor-specific identification number that is assigned to the produced devices. The vendor is responsible for administering and assigning these device IDs.
